Job Summary

NOTE: These are two open positions based out of Tulsa, OK. These positions are posted in a range and will be hired accordingly based on education and experience.

Responsible to the assigned supervisor for performing entry level engineering work activities and projects requiring the application of engineering knowledge in a safe, effective, efficient and economic accomplishment of assigned objectives.

T-Line Engineering Accountabilities:

Engineering and design work related to electrical transmission line design including:

• Engineering analysis and design

• Route analysis and selection

• Material acquisition

• Structural and foundation design

• Site access analysis

• Project and construction management support

• Execution of applicable compliance deliverables

Job Description

Duties Include:

  • Communicate effectively verbally and written to facilitate high quality, on schedule and on budget project performance.

  • Develop cost effective design alternatives and support cost estimating for proposed projects.

  • Work effectively with internal and external customers, government and regulatory agencies and contractors to secure permits, refine design alternatives and other liaison activities to bring project to completion.

  • Support bid and construction meetings as needed.

  • Work with Planning, Project Management, Siting, Environmental, Substation, Protection and Controls, Telecom, Distribution, Supply Chain and Right of Way as needed.

  • Supervise and review work of outside consultants as needed. Ensure all work activities are performed safely according to plan and established schedules in accordance with policies, standards and rules of the company and in compliance with regulations and procedures required by external agencies.

  • Prepare project construction documents including: plan and profile drawings; design drawings; engineering, material and construction specifications; project schedules and bills of material; and compliance documents.

Minimum Requirements:

Skills Needed:

  • Prior experience in structural design, foundation design and/or surveying is preferred. Experience and/knowledge of transmission line specific design, structure modeling and plan and profile development is not required. Candidates without this experience will need the ability to quickly gain proficiency.

  • Proficiency with PLS-CADD line design software is strongly preferred, and FAD foundation analysis software is strongly preferred. Candidates without this software experience must quickly gain proficiency in these and other required applications.

  • Competence with Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor, and/or Bentley MicroStation is desired.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) is required.

  • Knowledge of NESC (National Electrical Safety Code) Code and current industry standards is preferred.

  • 40-45 hours per week and casual overtime as needed to meet project schedules. Project and electrical system support responsibilities may require overnight travel and require the knowledge, understanding and adherence to applicable safety procedures.

  • Must be able to operate a company vehicle and possess and maintain a valid state driver's license. Must meet all vehicle operation requirements as designated by federal and/or state law.

Salary Range-

Engineer Assoc (entry level) grade 5, ($60,438- $75,000)

Engineer, grade 6, ($70,961- $90,000)
