We are looking for a talented student to join our team for our School To Work , Supply Chain in Troy, MI.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

The Cummins-Meritor Cooperative Education Student who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Supply chain or business management. The primary role of the Supply Chain school-to-work is to provide administrative support to the central material planning team. The student will, at the same time, gain real world experience and education in the field of material management and data analytics in a business-to-business environment.

• Review and take appropriate action for planned orders.

• Inform site of shortages, schedule changes, and related build plans.

• Maintain up to date shortage files and follow up accordingly.

• Maintain inventory stratification and review monthly forecast.

• Perform monthly analysis of safety stock and part parameters.

• Monitor accuracy of MRP system.

• Conduct scheduling meetings to expedite material from suppliers/internal operations.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools preferred.

• Ability to learn on the job in a dynamic environment while balancing multiple priorities.

• Ability to work independently and within teams as needed.

• Demonstrates written and oral communication skills, including presentation creation.

• Strong teamwork and ability to interact with all levels of the organizations.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.

Education, Licenses, Certification

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Operations Management, Business Administration.

• Post-Secondary:

• Must carry a minimum of 12 credit hours during the fall and spring semesters.

• Must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate of $ 17.60 and above, commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
