Description

Our healthcare client is seeking a Controller consultant for a contract to hire opportunity. This hybrid role is located in Troy Michigan and will report directly to the CFO.

The day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Execute month-end close procedures accurately and timely

  • Oversee the maintenance of the company's books and ensure they are up-to-date

  • Book all journal entries in accordance with established guidelines and procedures

  • Conduct regular reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance

  • Run the books efficiently, ensuring all entries are correctly logged

  • Leverage a solid understanding of accounting principles to ensure financial processes are adhered to

  • Produce and analyze Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports, providing insights to the management team

  • Handle a blend of Controller and finance-related tasks to support overall financial operations

  • Use ERP solutions and accounting software systems to streamline financial operations

  • Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), including auditing, budget processes, and DCAA compliance

    Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following skill set:

  • Must possess a minimum of seven years of experience in a Controller role or similar.

  • Demonstrable proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required.

  • Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions is compulsory.

  • Must be adept in handling all accounting functions.

  • Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required.

  • Must be knowledgeable about budget processes.

  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

  • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create complex spreadsheets and formulas.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and analyze financial data.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively.

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a high level of professionalism and integrity.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Must be able to work independently, make decisions, and solve problems effectively and efficiently.
