About the role
The ideal candidate will possess outstanding written communication skills and must build relationships quickly. You must be organised, efficient and adaptable, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce documents of a very high standard. You must also remain calm when working under pressure and be comfortable working independently and within a team. Occasionally, you will need to be flexible and work outside your standard hours to meet deadlines.
The role is suited to someone who enjoys working in an exciting and rapidly changing environment, working within a friendly team, where quick turnarounds are expected, and work covers a variety of sectors, assignments and projects.
Ideally, you will have a background working in the construction or property industry, for an engineering, project management or professional services firm.
The role is a full-time fixed term contract until December 2024.
Day to day tasks would involve:
Managing the preparation and submission of major and strategic tenders and panels for key clients
Driving bid process including bid programs and deliverables
Writing win themes, executive summaries and non-technical responses
Liaising with technical specialists to write technical responses including methodologies
Coordinating tender workshops and meetings, including reviews
Writing and editing personnel CVs and project case studies
Working with Graphic Designers to develop graphics and preparing documents, presentations and collateral that are aligned to Stantec brand guidelines
Proof-reading and editing documents
Ensuring bids are compliant and follow company procedures and governance
Meeting deadlines and driving teams to meet deadlines
Finalising documents before issue
Adhering to Stantec professional standards, ethics and quality procedures
To be successful for this role you'll need:
5 years’ related work experience in bid writing and management
Ideally with experience in bid writing within the construction / engineering industry (Transport sector experience would be very favourable)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – advanced level of MS Word competency is mandatory
Ability to manage competing priorities, be self-motivated and meet deadlines
Strong communication skills to engage/collaborate with a wide variety of staff from a wide variety of backgrounds at various levels of the business
Have a positive outlook and strong work ethic as well as an ability to think outside the box
Excellent written skills, attention to detail and a positive, can-do attitude
