Advising(80%)
- Maintain ongoing focus on student success, retention, outreach, and diversity.
- Advise honors students from a variety of colleges and degree programs.
- Evaluate student records and maintain advising records/files.
- Perform administrative duties and special projects as assigned.
- Refer advisees to appropriate campus resources.
- Assist with and attend college events as assigned (some may be evenings or weekends).
- Meet and advise prospective students and families.
- Present to prospective students and families on campus tours.
- Use electronic advising systems.
- Use academic alert notifications to enhance interactions with students and instructors.
- Update practices based on changes in university policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively and on a regular basis with advisees using various formats.
\ Administrative Assistant(20%)
Under the direction of the Program Manager, the new hire will help with several critical administrative tasks in support in the Honors College, including:
- Assisting with managing, reviewing, and reporting holistic applications
- Coordinating honors contract submissions and record-keeping process
- Managing the honors the add-on course list, compiling, checking for accuracy, and working with the registrar to link courses
- Coordinating thesis submissions, reviewing for completion and approval, and transferring thesis data to the library
- Assist with inputting exception data to university degree audit system (Degree Works)
- Other administrative duties as may be assigned
Position is primarily 8:00-5:00, Monday through Friday, except during peak advising and enrollment times and when special Honors College events are held during the evening and/or on weekends.
