WorkSource Oregon Juvenile Relief Worker - Detention - Temporary Pool in SALEM, Oregon

Marion County Juvenile Department is recruiting for current openings for part-time, temporary/on-call relief workers to provide vacation, illness, school breaks, and vacancy coverage in Detention. Please Note: Juvenile Relief Workers selected to work in Detention may also work in the Guaranteed Assistance Program, but they are not eligible to also work in Alternative Programs. If you already work as a Juvenile Relief Worker in Alternative Programs, you are not eligible to work for Detention or the Guaranteed Attendance Program. DETENTION CENTER Detention is 24 hours a day, 365 days a year operation. Detention provides a safe and secure environment for the temporary custody of delinquent youth who: have been charged by Law Enforcement with attempting or committing an offense; present the highest risk to community safety; have willfully failed to appear at one or more juvenile court proceedings; and/or are on juvenile probation and have failed to comply with one or more of the conditions of probation. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Two (2) years of college course work in Juvenile Justice, Sociology, Psychology or a related field; OR Two (2) years experience (paid or unpaid) working with juveniles or at-risk youth; OR Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the position.
