Summary This vacancy is for an Administrative Technician (OA) position in the Philadelphia Regional Office located in Philadelphia, PA. This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Administrative Technician (OA), GS-0303-05 (FPL 05) positions within the Census Bureau in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience. Responsibilities Computes, audits and certifies employee payroll records. Research payroll records and making corrections to keying errors. Prepares travel orders, coordinates with travel agents and collects receipts. Reviews and audits vouchers. Performs various personnel activities such as, initiating personnel actions and requesting and returning certificates from Office of Personnel Management (OPM). Conducts personnel reference and record checks. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This vacancy is advertised under 2 different announcements. Minimum Education Requirement: To be minimally qualified for this position, applicants MUST have a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute with three or fewer errors based on a five-minute sample. AND Specialized Experience: For the GS-5, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-4 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes:Performing a variety of administrative tasks associated with maintaining and supporting the work performed within an organization which includes performing technical administrative tasks in the areas of correspondence management; office automation, data collection, and tracking information; calendar and meeting management; serving as Point of Contact for an organizational unit; and performing specialized office tasks in support of a unit.OREducation: Bachelor's degree or four years above high school leading to a bachelor's degree.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
