AWS is hiring a Manager for Solutions Architects (Security) working on strategic Global Partner Security Solutions. We are looking for an experienced and motivated customer facing leader to coach, grow, and partner with technically skilled, customer-facing Security Solutions Architects. You will help develop the industry’s best cloud-based solutions architects by enabling and coaching them on best practices, solution selling, presentation and speaking skills, as well as how to create and present architectures of widely varying size and complexity. In collaboration with sales, you will drive revenue growth across a broad set of customers.

We are looking for an experienced security architecture leader to join the AWS Partner Solutions Architect team. As a security SA leader, you will own building and managing a team of security specialist architects, fostering a strong team culture. You and your team will be responsible for building innovative solutions in security and compliance space with AWS partners and customers. We're looking for a leader that's highly passionate about the potential of cloud computing and building a high performing security team. Ideally you have a track record of delivering high quality technology products and services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift quickly. You should know how to prioritize, communicate clearly and compellingly, and understand how to drive a high level of focus and excellence with a strong team. AWS in general, and Security in particular, operates at very large scale and demands high standards, so a passion and discipline around security and delivery is critical. A high level of ownership and accountability is essential. You will also help team members ramp-up on AWS as well as develop speaking, writing, presentation, and executive interaction skills. You will also need to be adept at interacting, communicating and partnering with other departments within AWS such as our services teams, marketing, and professional services, as well as representing your team to executive management.

Key job responsibilities

  • Work with AWS partners and customers to convey best practices and build cloud computing security, compliance, and risk management solutions

  • Work with other teams within AWS to drive workload adoption

  • Develop technical content, such as white papers and reference architectures, that can be used by our customers to assist them in deploying secure and compliant cloud-based solutions

  • Provide mentorship across AWS sales and solutions architecture teams regarding security and compliance to build skills in the field

  • Support go-to-market planning for security services and solutions

  • Represent AWS security services and solutions at trade events by delivering presentations and workshops

  • Be the customers trusted advisor, helping them learn and use AWS security services such as Amazon Identity and Access Management (IAM), Amazon GuardDuty, AWS Security Hub, Security Lake, AWS Key Management System, AWS CloudHSM, AWS Organizations, AWS Artifact, AWS WAF, etc.

  • Serve as a key member of the business development and account management team in helping to ensure customer success in securely building and migrating applications, software and services on the AWS platform

  • Fostering, coaching, recruiting and scaling a team of world class security architects; providing strategic and tactical oversight to the team and the program.

  • Act as a conduit and liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support

  • Ability to travel up to 30% as needed

Basic Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, or 7+ year’s work experience in technical role in lieu of no Bachelor’s degree.

  • 5+ year’s management of technical security, enterprise customer facing resources.

  • 7+ years’ experience in software design, implementation, and consulting experience with distributed applications.

  • 5+ years of experience in architecture building security and data solutions/platforms

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in cyber security (CISSP)

  • 10+ years of experience as a security engineer building large modular systems

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  • Familiarity with network security, vertical industry security, threat intelligence, and compliance

  • Strong verbal/written communication and inter-personal skill

  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $135,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $262,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
