Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Administrative Coordinator for the department of Rutgers Health Services.Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Manages a wide range of confidential human resource and payroll functions.
  • Supports the administrative and operational functions for Rutgers Student Health (RSH) by serving as the primary contact for facilities issues for RSH.
  • Provides confidential administrative support to the Director of Administration and Operations for Rutgers Student Health.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of human resources, office administration, organization, coordination, facilitation, record keeping and report writing.
  • Two (2) years of experience in an administrative function, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Certifications/Licenses
  • A valid driver's license would be required for this position; Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Good communication skills and computer literacy, specifically with MS Office.
  • Ability to compose correspondence and statistical reports.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks with multiple interruptions and maintain even temper.
  • Ability to problem solve and perform tasks independently with attention to detail.
  • Ability to carry small-medium cartons for courier/mail services.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiencies in the development and maintenance of spreadsheets and databases such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and deadlines.
  • Previous experience working with management preferably within higher education.
  • Ability to exercise exceptional discretion, confidentiality and good judgment in dealing with sensitive issues and information.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and as a team member.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Fax copiers/scanner.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Might involve movement of 20 lb. items from one site to another with the use of a personal car.
