The Position
Information Technology (IT) Technicians install, configure, monitor, and maintain networks and monitor and maintain help desk user support or mainframe and server operations.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This opening is for an IT Technician 5 within the Division of Health Care Financing and Policy (DHCFP) Information Services unit, in Carson City NV. This position acts as 2nd tier phone support for the DHCFP help desk. Assists with adding and removing users active directory/email accounts and provisioning all levels of user access; troubleshoots all aspects of user hardware/software issues; Provides introductory/ongoing training to workstations users; Subject Matter Expert on O365 and related features such as Teams, Groups, OneDrive. Performs routine and complex maintenance on computer hardware and peripherals, responsible for PC inventory and license tracking throughout the division. Also assists with creating and maintaining Windows desktop image using Windows Deployment Service and assists users with video conferencing solutions such as WebEx, Zoom and Teams rooms. The position is also tasked with ensuring the divisions help desk operating procedures are up to date and accurate. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of IT work experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of network workstation hardware and software; OR one year of relevant experience as an IT Technician IV in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.Special Requirements
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.The Examination
