Technologically savvy and detail orientated. Ability to critically listen and think how product is picked, loaded and unloaded in a safe manner with meeting expectations. Systems used are Tandem, Milwaukee Slotting Tool, and BFC Dakota FS-WMS

BASIC PURPOSE

A digital load planner ensures the efficient layout of food product being picked from the warehouse by hand along with palletizing the product according to stop and loading the pallets properly on a refrigerated trailer. The goals is to optimize the number of cases per truck and to make unloading of the product efficient for each delivery driver. About 30 routes are built daily.

Additionally, candidate will also make warehouse slot changes in computer system to ensure proper placement (size and weight of product and pallet height) of current and new food products to our facility. “Go See” mentality within the warehouse will be necessary.

Sun: 4PM to 8:30PM

Mon-Thurs from 12PM to 8:30PM

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use Truck Builder software to layout and assemble each trailer. Analyze the output to ensure that loads are built to maximize both safety and efficiency while loading and unloading product .

  • Maintain equipment and ensure the proper supply of all necessary materials to facilitate successful loading and unloading processes. Order supplies as needed.

  • Respond to all driver concerns regarding loads built with Truck Builder. Adjust loads as necessary to address concerns and maximize efficiency.

  • Assist in loading trailers as needed to meet daily production goals.

  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

  • Internal: Selectors, drivers, clerks, managers

  • External: Customers, sales

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work will take place at a desk in an office environment and within normal warehouse environments including cooler and freezer areas where temperatures may be as low as -5 degrees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Related Experience/Requirements:

  • N/A

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Effective communication both verbally and in writing.

  • Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.

  • Basic computer skills with a good knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.

  • Problem solving and critical thinking abilities to solve problems of limited scope.

  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to support others in the department and division.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED/equivalent required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • One year of experience in a warehouse preferred.

Certifications/Training

  • Experience with Truck Builder software preferred.
