This position is in Cargill’s agricultural supply chain business. We sit at the heart of the supply chain, partnering with farmers and customers to source, make and deliver essential products.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Trader (Cotton) will be responsible for providing support in developing and managing the risk of a global cotton portfolio, you will generate income and control risks by performing complex trading work, with medium risk tolerance. This role will work across a global team to providing trading support to maximize returns for stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities

  • Apply a thorough comprehension of trade to execute and monitor the short term trading strategies and books for a specific commodity, market or customer based on speculative and hedged positions.

  • Generate market, positions and profit and loss reports based on estimates and specialty reports created by junior members of the team.

  • Handle and monitor medium trading positions and exposures, such as the short term trading book.

  • Develop and implement sales strategies, identify potential customers and foster current customer relationships.

  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of four years of related work experience
