AutoZone, Inc. Merchandising Analyst Manager in Memphis, Tennessee

SUMMARY Management of Analysts and Sr. Analysts. Responsible for training analysts in SAS, promotion analysis, statistical techniques, and financial metrics. Involved in career development, RPM, and hiring of analyst's. Help develop next year's KPI targets and builds LE's throughout the fiscal year. Works directly with VP's, SVP's and EVP's to design analysis and address specific needs on strategic projects. Develop new reporting/process enabling more effective achievement of OP plan tactics and KPI's. Involved in cross functional teams developing strategic planning (4C) and specific corporate initiatives (cost savings, sales analysis). Viewed as a resource by other departments. Must be a catalyst for change and drive process improvement. Position viewed as training ground for future leaders. RESPONSIBILITIES Coaching and Development of Merchandising Analyst's. Teaching: SAS programming, Data structure, Data quality control, Financial analysis, Retailing processes/procedures, Category update essentials, Analytical role in merchandising, Problem solving techniques. Responsible for developing plan & LE's. Forecast first pass of 7 KPI's by category. Present findings to VP's and Directors. Negotiate adjustments between groups. Work with Merchandising VP's on special projects. Such as: EC presentations, Vendor Top to Top's, Risk assessments of vendors, Brain storming solutions to category issues, etc. Develop new Merchandising process's involving pricing, product placement, category management. Such as: Category update template, Annual strategic planning, Category Captain relationships, Develop ACM finical training, etc. Cross functional work with Supply Chain, Marketing and Operations. Such as: 4C, Project Flat, Shrink team, Clearance Team, Open to Buy development team. Work with IT on development of new programs and researching data integrity issues. Such as: Construct AR's for departmental data needs, Identify issues with data integrity, Develop long term IT resource requirements for annual review etc. Work with vendors in developing VendorNet, Category Management and CPFR. REQUIREMENTS A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent. Three to five years experience in Business Administrations, Statistics, Engineering or comparable field.
