We have an immediate opportunity for an Advanced R&D Engineer/Scientist in hydroprocessing to join Honeywell UOP's Research and Development organization. This role will lead and support the development of new hydroprocessing processes and catalyst technologies that will process traditional feeds and coprocess renewable, circular plastic to provide sustainable technology solutions to the energy industry.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead and drive projects to deliver integrated solutions for upgrading traditional and hybrid feedstocks (e.g., plastics, renewable and conventional feeds) into valuable fuels and petrochemicals.

  • Enable growth in testing capacity and digitization efforts in hydroprocessing.

  • Contribute to cross-functional teams, including R&D, Engineering, Technical Service, and Manufacturing specialists, to develop innovative solutions for the conversion technology areas.

  • Develop and implement robust project plans to meet technology delivery commitments on schedule and within budget constraints.

  • Lead pilot plant experimentation and drive the model-based design of experiments (MBDOE) approach to bring effectiveness and agility.

  • Increase awareness of the market, competition, and new developments. Contribute to the development of technology strategy to build a strong pipeline of sustainable solutions that will drive growth.

You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

  • 2+ years of experience in a Technology, Engineering, Research & Development, or Technical Service role

We Value:

  • Experience in the refining and petrochemical industries.

  • Experience in catalysis experimental, pilot plant, and modeling experience.

  • Strong interest and dedication to R&D work.

  • Advanced degree (MS, PhD) in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.

  • Strong understanding of chemical engineering, catalysis and adsorbent fundamentals and their application in developing refining and petrochemical process technology.

  • Experience in using process simulation tools such as UniSim and Aspen.

  • Experience in developing and executing experimental plans, including statistical tools for data analysis.
