Amazon seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to support our Lawn & Garden business within OHL Retail Finance. The key task would be to help to help the business in decision support through data analysis and business insight.

This position is office-based, with the flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week in line with Amazon’s current flexible work guidance. Amazon encourages open communication about unique needs for flexible arrangements.

Key job responsibilities

The Senior Financial Analyst will be a finance partner to the L&G business team and part of the EU Other Hardlines finance team. This includes, among other things, responsibility for financial metrics, reporting, forecasting and analysis. The successful candidate will be strategic, analytical, and have the demonstrated ability to effectively manage the finances of a high-growth business:

  • Perform financial reporting and support monthly P&L analysis and Financial forecasts for your business.

  • Support in monthly/quarterly financial closing activity in close co-ordination with business and other finance teams

  • Support the business team with business case evaluation, negotiation strategy, vendor analysis

  • Facilitate financial review meetings with business groups and work with business managers to ensure right trade-off between growth and profitability

  • Perform ad-hoc business analyses, and financial modelling. Present recommendations to senior management on strategic decisions, and planned future initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or a Bachelor's degree and experience in quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance)

  • Experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field

  • Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses

  • Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis

  • Experience in identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of Tableau

  • Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
