Amazon Program Manager, Global Mile Destination Operations in Luxembourg, Luxembourg

Global Mile is a team of highly experienced logistics professionals, carrier specialists, and program managers focused on improving the speed and reliability of Amazon’s cross-border logistics capabilities. The team is responsible for executing the timely movement of freight from global manufacturing hubs cross-border into Amazon’s international marketplaces for Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) sellers and Retail direct import vendors. Leveraging the capabilities of world-class logistics providers and internal Amazon supply chain solutions, Global Mile increases selection and lowers cost for our customers.

We are looking to hire a highly skilled and motivated Program Manager to develop robust transportation capabilities for the delivery of Ocean freight into Europe for cross-border imports. The Program Manager will be responsible for driving effective planning with FBA-product, ocean, customs and destination teams to meet seller SLA and cost targets. The candidate will regularly lead business and planning reviews with senior leaders. This role is all about creating a strong supply chain, ensuring a reliable and cost-efficient delivery process to scale business growth. You will have the opportunity to bring your own leadership capabilities to the role, creating value through managing relationships and driving execution discipline in operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytic background and an aptitude for making data-driven decisions that enable them to manage multiple stakeholders across different programs. They will need the ability to execute the disciplines of operations management and the ability to lead through influence. They will need to demonstrate the ability to think broadly and strategically about supply chain initiatives and the ability to persuade senior leaders to build consensus on objectives. This role requires the ability to travel up to 15% time to various facilities in the Amazon network and for on-site visits with Carriers and Logistic Service Providers (LSP) based on business needs.

Key job responsibilities

• Lead projects to deliver the EU destination business metrics and goals.

• Build processes and tools to enable scalable and flexible Global Mile operations.

• Indirectly manage internal support teams such as Controllership, Finance, operations center teams, global trade services etc. that represent Amazon in direct interactions with carriers and customers.

• Work closely with Global Shipping Product and Capability team to evaluate, develop, or support new product/service programs that add value to customers and Amazon business teams.

• Identify and drive cost reduction opportunities for operations via improved LSP efficiency and reduced operational cost and charges.

• Consistently benchmark across lead time, cost and emissions to determine the best mode for shipments.

• Identify and mitigate capacity risks by making recommendations on managing dependencies across multiple operating units and sites. Clearly communicate dependencies and manage/track expectations on forecast accuracy.

• Take ownership for the development of SOPs, guidelines and new processes mapping and engage all key stakeholders to ensure end-to-end alignment and effective hand-offs between teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience in program or project management

  • Experience in driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certificate
