Tatum by Randstad is currently seeking an experienced Controller to join

a dynamic finance team with an established Real Estate Development company, who will play a critical role in the financial management and growth of our organization.

The Controller will be responsible for managing all finance and accounting operations,

including the development and implementation of financial strategies, policies, and

practices. This role is critical in supporting our company's financial health and long-term

success, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and insightful financial reporting.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong background in real estate development or a similar field, who can drive efficiency and innovation in our financial processes.

This is an immediate need and is a Direct Hire opportunity for the right candidate.

The target compensation range for the position is between $120K - $130K depending on experience.

responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounting operations of multiple entities, including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, project cost accounting, development period and permanent loans, and revenue recognition from operations and sales of assets.

  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, report variances, and prepare monthly financial statements.

  • Implement and maintain internal controls and safeguards for receipt of revenue, project and operating costs, and budgets.

  • Coordinate and manage relationship with external CPA firm for income tax return

  • preparation and projections.

  • Analyze company financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs, and compliance with budgets.

  • Issue monthly status and ad hoc reports to senior management.

  • Provide strategic management of the accounting and finance functions.

  • Direct financial forecasting and strategy.

  • Assess and evaluate financial performance of the organization with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts.

  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

  • Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes and procedures, and control systems.

qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years of accounting and finance experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the real estate development industry or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, with a strong understanding of real estate development finance and project accounting.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with an ability to present financial data using detailed reports and charts.

  • Demonstrable strategic thinking; ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.

  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.

  • Tech-savvy, with advanced proficiency in accounting software, Excel, and financial management applications.
