Arvinas Senior Manager, Business Development in Hybrid, United States

Arvinas is a clinical-stage biotechnology company dedicated to improving the lives of patients suffering from debilitating and life-threatening diseases through the discovery, development, and commercialization of therapies that degrade disease-causing proteins. Position Summary

We are seeking a creative and independent Senior Manager, Business Development who is comfortable working in a fast-paced & dynamic environment. Our Senior Manager, Business Development will assume a highly visible role within Arvinas to identify and evaluate new business opportunities and strategic partnerships. In addition, support our corporate vision and business imperatives to ensure excellent relationships for existing and future partnerships. This leader will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to evolve our business development strategies and objectives.

This position reports to Senior Director of Business Development and can be located at our headquarters in New Haven, CT or work remotely from a location within the U.S.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with all functions of organization to negotiate and close partnering transactions, including licenses, & research collaboration

  • Navigate business issues that arise during negotiations; work with cross-functional internal teams and senior leadership to address and resolve issues in a timely fashion

  • Maintain and update a database of business development interactions with current & future partners

  • Coordinate meetings with potential partners, including the development of agendas, distribution of minutes, and coordination of follow-up activities

  • Collaborate with finance colleagues to quantify the impact of various deal structures and terms

  • Complete due diligence packages and build data rooms to facilitate assessment of opportunities by potential partners; conduct reverse diligence as needed

Qualifications

  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, with ability to flex between scientific / technical detail and big-picture strategy

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, teamwork, analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills

  • Proven ability to lead multiple business development projects and diligence teams efficiently and independently

  • A track record of success in sourcing/driving significant business development opportunities to completion including both in & out licensing experience

  • Strong understanding of drug discovery, development, and commercialization process and essential activities across all key functional areas

  • Broad business development network and a progressive knowledge of innovative alliance structures, industry trends and emerging innovations

  • Great enthusiasm for collaborating closely with R&D members in a high-science environment and contribute to seamless integration of BD, R&D and all key functions

  • Creative, highly motivated, and results-driven team player with a “nothing is impossible” attitude

Education & Experience

  • B.S., or M.S required; scientific field of study or graduate degree (MD, PhD) preferred

  • 5+ years’ experience in life science, biotech, and/or pharmaceutical industries; business development, research & development, commercial strategy, consulting or related roles will be considered
