Constructability & Modularization Construction Manager

KBR is looking for a Constructability & Modularization Manager who will coordinate one of our giga project’s modularization and constructability development activities as part of an overall construction execution plan for a Refinery and Chemicals development project. This role will provide input and coordinate for the establishment of a project modularization philosophy, in which the key project requirements are for the minimization of construction, installation and commissioning project work hours expended on site.

The Constructability & Modularization Construction Manager will contribute to the development of construction strategies and planning initiatives for project pre-FEED execution plan and estimate and follow-on FEED execution plan development and estimate.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the construction and engineering teams to define the level of modularization, constructability, and layout of the facility.

  • Responsible for preparing the initial module sequencing

  • Coordinate with engineering for the Plant Layout and Piping Group in the layout of a modularized plant, the design of individual modules, and the establishment of the key modularization parameters required at the beginning of a modularized project, as well as providing an overview of module fabrication, transportation, installation, testing and commissioning

  • Contribute to the overall construction and constructability activities to achieve the successful completion of the modulization and construction aspects

  • Ensure primary success indicators are meeting the Projects safety, quality, schedule, and cost goals

  • Responsible to lead the constructability effort with the project team for not only modularization but for the overall construction execution strategy and the integration of modularization with stick-built portions of the units.

  • Complete the Heavy Haul and MOF feasibility study and follow through with the development, scope and estimate of recommended improvements

  • Work with logistics on the MOF freight profile requirements for ship frequency and discharging durations

  • Work with Subcontracts on identification of module fabricators, scope of work definition and package formation.

  • Along with the HSE Manger, manage the Team in the implementation of the Project Safety Plans, as applicable, to the Module Site activities

  • Coordinate the development and implementation of consistent procedures and systems for the integrated site team(s) specifically in the areas of site queries, design changes, and cost/ schedule/ progress reporting

  • Complete closeout activities

Qualifications:

  • PMC /EPC experience Downstream Projects to produce liquefied natural gas, gasoline, heating oil, synthetic rubber, plastics, lubricants, antifreeze, fertilizers, and pesticides

  • Leadership qualities to direct, motivate and organize the team

  • Ability to manage multiple discipline modularization and construction site team to ensure that the team deliver consistent quality works which will also meet safety, cost, and schedule requirements

  • Established competence to monitor variances from plans and conduct swift implementation of appropriate preventive or remedial measures

  • Behavior to function in a proactive manner

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills coupled with pragmatism/ flexibility to build good contractor relations

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field

    • years of industry experience including 10 years of oil industry design, construction, and project execution
  • Preferred experience having worked in a large-scale, module fabrication and assembly yard on Refinery or LNG unit equipment and piperack modules

  • Proven ability in the management of fabrication of large multi-discipline facilities
