Description:

We are seeking an experienced commercial drywall and carpentry Estimator to join a mid-sized drywall, carpentry, acoustics, and paints contractor in metro-Detroit. The person for this role report to the lead Estimator and President and focus mainly on their commercial projects business.

On a daily basis this person will; calculate how much construction projects will cost, taking into account labor, material and equipment requirements. They will negotiate with suppliers and gain quotes from subcontractors if needed, and use this information to compile detailed cost proposals for a client.

Work Environment:

-Farmington Hills office

-95% of time spent in office. Typical 8-5pm, but flex starts sometimes depending on where projects are at. This is a salaried position.

-Smaller, mid-sized company with a close group of employees

Qualifications:

-Bachelors in Construction Management

-Experienced using computerized estimating software

-Proficient in Microsoft Excel for takeoffs and bid sheets

-5 year+ in commercial drywall and carpentry construction OR 10+ years in commercial finishes industries like paints, trim carpentry, metal framing, or millwork

-Mechanically inclined person who focuses on very small, finite details
