Coordinator, Equipment (Automotive)


This position monitors all third party equipment expenses to ensure that we have adequate revenue re-capture from customers and carriers. Daily monitoring of all equipment on the street under APLL control is required. This position must audit and pass on to Equipment Supervisor to approve all third party per diem expense invoices as well as invoice customers for accessorial per diem charges. This position must also advise carriers when APLL assigned equipment is about to go on storage so that carriers can be advised. All storage charges are audited and passed on to the appropriate carrier for payment.


  • Run and distribute various dwell reports to management daily, monthly and ad hoc on Per Diem charge recovery. These reports are created by exporting data from the LoadTech system into Excel Spreadsheets and other third party equipment monitoring applications.

  • Detailed report creation in Excel by invoice (Per Diem Report)

  • Pool management by customer based on forecasts provided

  • By Period reporting to illustrate revenue recapture (Per Diem Revenue)

  • Monitor and expedite equipment in dwell (Per Diem & Storage)

  • Audit and approve third party (REZ1 OR PACER) invoices for Per Diem charges

  • Daily audit of charges incurred by unit (Per Diem)

  • Daily audit of potential charges incurred by unit (Storage)

  • Run and distribute various dwell reports to management daily, monthly and ad hoc on Storage charge recovery. Information is gathered using Excel spreadsheets and validating potential storage charges at the railroads for loads that APLL is notified on.

  • Detailed report creation in Excel by Railroad (Storage Report)

  • By Period reporting to illustrate revenue recapture (Storage Revenue vs. Storage expense)

  • Performing Operational functions, i.e. Customs Invoicing, Load Dispatching, Track and Trace with Dray Carriers and Railroad carriers

Key Results:

  • Recovering incurred Per Diem Expenses that are valid

  • Recovering Storage Related Expenses that are valid

  • Paying the Third Party Provider (Pacer) for Per Diem that is valid

  • Making Dray Carriers responsible for their own Storage Expenses

  • Validating reason for “storage related” expense (Yard pulls and authorized railroad storage)

  • Auditing/Validating any direct storage expense from railroads



  • High school diploma. Logistics or Business degree/certificate preferred.

  • 3 - 5 years of transportation experience. Intermodal operations and equipment control experience preferred.

  • Must possess strong Microsoft Excel skills and be proficient in other Microsoft Office applications

  • Proven customer service skills are required in order to create, maintain and enhance customer relationships

  • Must be able to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds

  • Detail oriented with a strong desire to get things done accurately, efficiently and timely

  • Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines in fast-paced environment

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential material with a high level of professionalism and integrity

  • English fluency required. Spanish is preferred.
