Position Summary

The role will be to provide manufacturing engineering support to the Energizer Rassau Auto Care facility. This position will work closely with the Engineering and Maintenance leader, Production Supervisors and maintenance team to lead and manage improvement actions in support of ever changing engineering and production requirements.

The successful individual will be involved in supporting and developing the team by introducing and implementing methods that will effectively ensure the Rassau facility is considered best in class, ideally you will also possess the following attributes:

• Manage new initiatives with a drive to achieve customer Satisfaction through effective management of goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate engineering workstreams in support of the production strategies and provide technical support to the Production teams on a day to day basis.

• Develop and implement strategies to ensure the team conduct daily business by using tools such as Dynamic Control Planning, Feasibility studies, Change Control, Project fund tracking, CCAR’s, Energizer Production System and other related systems. Drive the mind-set of change required to achieve the above.

• Work with their Manager and Plant Training to ensure an effective plan to meet the training needs analysis for the engineering team is effectively achieved.

• Coordinate the team and individual activities to maximise workload to achieve the daily goals with a view to achieving longer term scorecard objectives, including engineering budget objectives.

• Continually assess and coach the teams to ensure standard practice is in place to ensure optimum safety, quality and delivery elements are met during day to day and project activities.

• Proactive involvement in the investigation of Quality or production constraint concerns via the use of methodical problem solving tools and techniques to ensure fault resolution and recurrence prevention. Ensure follow up actions are captured and conducted through 6 Panel and 5 why processes.

• Lead\coordinate shutdown work/project planning & delivery.

Reporting to the Engineering and Maintenance Leader, key responsibilities will be to lead and support:

  • JPM Improvements

  • Forward Planning and Launch activities

  • SQDCME Compliance

  • EPS Initiatives

  • Provide "hands on" engineering support to the team

  • Any other related duties

What we are looking for

Applicants should ideally hold or be studying for a Degree/or equivalent in Engineering or related subject, whilst ideally also possessing the following skills/attributes.

  • People development and leadership ability

  • A high level of motivation, initiative and creativity

  • A flexible approach to cope with frequent change

  • Knowledge of quality tools such as 6 Sigma, 6 Panel reporting, FMEA & DCP

  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage a demanding workload

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Ability to analyse and present data

  • Good problem solving skills

  • Demonstrate a high level of motivation, innovation skills and initiative.

  • Evidence of leadership, interpersonal and team building skills.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • A flexible approach to successfully managing frequent change and evidence of participation in quality and productivity continuous improvement.

  • An understanding of Policy Deployment and the use of scorecards in measuring performance against objectives is also essential for this position.

  • Strong analytical skills – ideally applicants should have and be able to demonstrate a good understanding of Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Computer literacy preferred packages to include Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Microsoft Project

  • Experience in using CAD is preferable.
