Requisition Summary
Peterbilt Motors Company is seeking a Reliability Engineering Supervisor to lead a team of Reliability Engineers in supporting product development by using analysis and test tools to provide recommendations to design engineers and continued improvement of reliability tools.

Job Functions / Responsibilities
Supervise all work produced by department members, delegate assignments appropriately, and provide feedback and guidance to subordinates to improve work quality and personal performance
Ensure timeliness and quality of the group’s output, including reliability projections, warranty searches, Weibull analyses, reliability system enhancements, FMEA & DVP facilitation, and training
Mentor systems engineers in the principles of reliability engineering, reliability growth, reliability modeling and reliability prediction
Collaborate with system/property owners to set top down reliability and durability targets starting from systems to sub-systems to parts for new vehicles
Coordinate internal and external simulation and test resources, including other PACCAR divisions
Support product development by simulating design concepts and analyzing impacts on system performance by using tools like FTA, RBD
Validate system breakdowns by correlating models to test data
Deliver Weibull analysis reports with clear recommendations and proposals for improvements to engineering teams
Develop, improve, and present reliability training material to design and manufacturing engineering teams
Participate in PACCAR’s Global Reliability Expertise Group
Present plans for reliability improvements for systems and components to management for approval
Provide technical leadership in the creation and evolution of a roadmap for vehicle reliability and durability to support new product development
Up to 10% travel may be required
Skills / Competencies
7+ years of engineering experience related to reliability or design quality testing
BS in Engineering or related field required; MS in Reliability Engineering is preferred
CRE certification from ASQ is preferred
Experience with statistical analysis software, such as Minitab required
Experience with CAD software: Creo/Windchill/WRR (Windchill Risk and Reliability suite) preferred
Must be able to teach, coach, administer and facilitate FMEA, DVP and Control Plans
Experience with using DFSS tools; DFSS Black Belt certification is preferred
Solid understanding of mechanical/electro-mechanical systems in motor vehicles, mechatronic systems analysis, engines, and software impacts
Ability and desire to learn new tools and stay updated with the latest technological advancements in the industry. Background in the automotive or heavy truck industry is preferred.
Ability to build cooperation among individuals and departments and share information and resources to achieve goals of internal and external customers
Effective analysis and project management skills
Excellent engineering judgment
Effective communication, presentation, and technical writing skills
Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, the ability to manage workloads, and the willingness to respond to shifting timelines and project demands
