GFMCO, LLC Maintenance Technician in Cordele, Georgia

GFMCO, LLC is seeking technically trained individuals to join our team in Cordele, GA. In this role you will work independently and as part of a team, performing preventative, scheduled, and emergency maintenance tasks in support of Foundry operations. The candidate must have a well-rounded maintenance background in an industrial environment, ability to think critically, and exercise initiative to ensure maximum efficiency of both facilities and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, maintains, and repairs a broad range of mechanical systems and equipment. Includes hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication and power transmission systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and read Industrial, Electrical, and Hydraulic print systems.
  • May work alone with minimal supervision or with other maintenance technicians.
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical and electronic systems and equipment.
  • Perform routine inspections on a variety of industrial machinery, including but not limited to, manufacturing equipment, conveyor systems, hydraulic presses, and automated controls.
  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, cleaning, and part replacements, following manufacturer guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot and identify issues with equipment performance and functionality.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to plan and execute maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure that all machinery and equipment meet safety and operational standards.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions by utilizing a combination of technical manuals, diagnostic tools, and hands-on inspection.
  • Conduct electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic repairs as needed, including replacing faulty components and wiring.
  • Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper functionality and safety.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts and materials required for repairs.
  • Adhere strictly to safety regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the appropriate authorities immediately.
  • Participate in safety training sessions and actively promote a safety-conscious culture within the organization.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance activities, including inspection reports, repair logs, and parts usage.
  • Generate work orders and provide detailed documentation for completed repairs and maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in electronics or like discipline preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job
  • Knowledge of electrical/electronic troubleshooting and installation techniques
  • Capable of performing mechanical repair or mechanical knowledge of machinery found in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity and knowledge of Stick Welding and establishment of components according to specifications
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Able to work effectively with minimum supervision
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must work with a sense of urgency
