Job Description

Our Safety and Training Supervisor is a critical role responsible for overseeing safety protocols and training programs to ensure a secure and knowledgeable workforce. This position involves developing, implementing, and managing safety policies and procedures, conducting safety audits, and identifying potential risks within airport operations. You are also responsible for designing and delivering training programs to ensure that employees are well-prepared and compliant with safety regulations. Additionally, this role involves collaborating with various airport departments to promote safety awareness and drive continuous improvement in safety practices.

WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK AS A SAFETY AND TRAINING SUPERVISOR

· Develop and oversee safety and training programs for airport service staff

· Ensure compliance with aviation safety regulations and industry standards

· Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate risks

· Provide training and orientation for new employees on safety protocols

· Lead safety meetings and workshops to promote a culture of safety awareness

· Investigate safety incidents and accidents, and implement preventive measures

· Review and update safety manuals and documentation

· You have a great attention to detail

· You enjoy working with a team or individually to accomplish your tasks

· Strong customer service skills

· Like to build long term relationships with your customers

· Physical activity may include:

· Stand and walk for extended periods of time

· Ability to lift 70 pounds or more

· Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environment

· Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)

Qualifications

· Minimum age of 18 years old

· Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents

· Minimum of 3 years of experience in aviation safety and training

· In-depth knowledge of aviation safety regulations and best practices

· Proven experience in safety program development and training program design

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills

· Excellent communication and leadership abilities

· Comfortable working with computers, mobile devices, and tablets

· Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

· Ability to pass a drug screen

· Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
