Overview:

This IT Systems Administrator position will primarily be supporting end user computing on a day to day basis, ranging from issues with PC’s, printers and accessories etc. Candidate will also be responsible for ensuring network and wireless stability across multiple sites in the greater Chicago and Kenosha area. This position is based out of Bolingbrook, IL.

This individual will provide local and remote support for network infrastructure, servers, storage, end user hardware & software, desktop support, Wi-Fi, audio and video conferencing along with mobile devices in a fast-paced, dynamic and rewarding environment. The incumbent will possess an energetic and positive demeanor, welcomes challenges and seeks constant opportunity to grow and learn. As a member of the team, the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple IT incidents is essential to this position.

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Design, configure, and maintain functional IT networks

  • Implement and maintain IT network security standards

  • Establish, maintain and perform automated network health checks and monitoring for performance and stability

  • Self-manage time and meet deadlines

  • Setup, maintain & support SAN storage, backup & archive systems.

  • Build, rollout & support local and remote desktops, laptops. This includes new hardware and software installation, network software configuration, upgrades to workstation hardware/software

  • General end user support and triaging of issues with various applications

  • Maintain & support WiFi implementations and mobile computers at all operations

  • First level support of virtual switching and server environments (VMware, HyperV etc)

  • Maintain current inventory of IT assets assigned to locations, including tracking additions, relocations, and disposal through the continued use and maintenance of LanSweeper, Active directory & other tools.

  • Coordinate and implement network software and hardware upgrades

  • Maintain & support LAN/WAN performance, connectivity and related network problems, administering security and malware control measures

  • Frequent local travel will be required; overnight travel on occasion.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in IT, technical training or related work experience

  • Minimum 4 years of work experience with a broad base of technologies, demonstrating progressive levels of responsibilities in a predominantly MS Windows environment.

  • Experience supporting WiFi networks and mobile computers in a warehouse environment

  • Strong problem solving & analytical skills along with sound decision making abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of networking fundamentals, design, implementation & troubleshooting

  • Strong interpersonal skills are required. Ability to work effectively with team members, clients and other areas of the IT environment.

  • Fundamental ability to brainstorm, research, conceptualize and implement solutions for technical challenges

  • Experience supporting SAN storage devices, backup & archive tools & systems

  • Great written and oral communication skills.

  • Customer Service focused, ability to prioritize workflow, work independently and remotely support multiple locations.

  • Working knowledge of virtual switching and server environments (VMware, HyperV etc)

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • IT Certifications: CompTIA Network , A , Microsoft MTA, MCSA, MCSE

  • Cisco CCENT or CCNA highly regarded but not required

  • Experience maintaining Motorola/Zebra mobile computers a plus

  • Knowledge of barcode & label printer hardware and software

  • Spanish speaking a plus
